Smart Point® System Projects
ALSTOM S.p.A. - Smart Point® for Orléans’ trams
ALSTOM S.p.A., one of the world’s leading companies for the development and marketing of systems, equipment and services in the railway market and for the production of energy, has successfully concluded a project that involves the use of Smart Point® technology for the maintenance of the trams supplied to the city of Orléans (France). A single type of component of the Rolling Stock has undergone the tests whose aim was to evaluate the impact of this technology in this specific maintenance proces.
THE ITALIAN NAVY . Testing on the “Garibaldi” flagship
The testing of the Smart Point® System on the “Garibaldi” flagship has recently started. The aim of this first pilot project on a military ship is to evaluate the simplicity, the reliability and the efficiency of the tag for the applications related to the on board activities.
ACEA ATO2 – “Gruppo Acea S.p,A,”
ACEA ATO2, the company responsible for the management of the water supply services in the area including Rome and 111 other towns in the Lazio region, has successfully concluded the testing on the Smart Point® System. The application has used the Smart Point® technology to support the drawing of water samples of Rome’s water piping system.
ENEL – Electrical energy production
The ESA company is taking part in a workgroup whose subject matter is the power plant Torre Nord in Civitavecchia (Rome). The aim of this project is to identify the best technological solutions to guarantee a practical and lasting identification of some components of the power plant itself.
ENEL - Gas network
The operational centre in Casoria (Naples) has been selected to test the Smart Point® technology on the plant management activities and particularly on underground valves on the MP and LP network, vents, waste and drainage pipes and pressure level surveying. About 150 spots will be involved in this experimentation.
In Lecco’s operational centre the testing is active on about 50 cathodic protection plants.
TERNA S.p.A.
The testing on the Smart Point® in the Cagliari branch is successfully over. The aim of the project was to verify the tag’s resistance in the plants’ operational conditions. Shortly a new project will be born that employs the Smart Point® technology for the standard activities in some of the plants managed by Terna S.p.A.
MILITARY DEPARTMENT – Dog tag
The ESA Company is working at the “New identification tag” project, consisting in the application of a Smart Point® button on a military tag. It will immediately ensure the availability of all the necessary data for the emergency operations on the field, according to the Netlink protocol. The identification tag will not replace the multiservice card, but it will support it: thanks to its features, it can be used in a way that adheres in a stricter way to the operational needs, ensuring, at the same time, the highest reliability.
